News

  • Japan Foundation Touring Film Programme 2023 will show a selection of films on the screens of arthouse cinemas across the UK from February 03rd to March 31st. There are two classics, one animated film, one documentary, and a lot of contemporary dramas. (Source)

  • Rotterdam International Film Festival 2023 takes place from January 25th to February 05th. An initial list of feature and short films has been released and there are a lot from Asia – about 32 from India, 9 from Korea, 5 from Taiwan, 9 from Singapore, 7 from Hong Kong, 3 from China, 3 from Thailand, and 26 from Japan.   • Seijun Suzuki Centennial runs from February 03rd to the 11th at Japan Society New York. Japan Society in New York worked with The Japan Foundation to create a new film series called Seijun Suzuki Centennial. It celebrates 100 years of director Seijun Suzuki (1923-2017) and presents a number of lesser-known films, all on imported 35mm prints from Japan. The most famous is Tokyo Drifter. It runs from February 03rd to the 11th and it is in-person screenings only by the looks of things. (Source
